Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of fentanyl versus sufentanil for improving the quality during recovery from general anesthesia in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods Guided by bispectral index, total intravenous anesthesia(TIVA)with propofol combined with remifentanil was performed in 60patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy, who were assigned into two groups with 30cases each. The patients were given equivalent dose of fentanyl3μg/kg(group F)or sufentanil 0.3μg/kg(group S)injected intravenously before anesthesia induction and surgical skin incision, respectively.MAP and HR were recorded before extubation, immediately after extubation and at 5min after extubation. The recovery time, extubation time, restlessness score(RS)during awakening and the time for postoperative passage of gas by anus were recorded. Results There were no significant differences in MAP,HR,consciousness-regained time, extubation time,RS and the time for postoperative passage of gas by anus between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Both of fentanyl and sufentanil in an equivalent dose used during induction of TIVA with propofol combined with remifentanil can effectively prevent postoperative pain and restlessness during recovery from anesthesia. But the medical cost of fentanyl is much cheaper than that of sufentanil.
