Determination and clinical significance of peripheral blood C-reactive protein in children with acute diseases

Objective To study the significance of determination of C-reactive protein(CRP) level on the diagnosis,differential diagnisis and judging the therapeutic effect of child acute diseases.Methods To select 398 children with acute diseases and 50 healthy children randomly.Then serum CRP was detected,at the same time,the routine blood test was performed.The serological examination and microbial culture were carried out.Results CRP in the children with bacterial infection was obviously increased compared to the children with viral infections and healthy controls,both were statistically different(P0.01).The levels of CRP in the severe infection,poisoning or trauma group were higher than those of slight group(P0.01).Conclusion The detection of serum CRP in child acute disease is helpful to clinical early diagnosis,differential diagnosis,disease assessment and treatment judgment.
