Abstract
Objective To appraise the value of C-reactive protem(CRP) and white blood cell(WBC) numeration in diagnosis of children with acute respiratory tract infection. Methods The content of CRP and WBC in 76 bacterial-infected children,60 virus-infected children and 65 healthy children were examined and compared. Results CRP level was much higher in the bacterial-and virus-infected children than healthy children(P0.01).The difference ofCRP was statistically significant in the bacterial-infected children before and after treatment(P0.001).Conclusion Serum CRP detection is useful in early diagnosis and differential diagnosis of acute respiratory tract infection in children, and dynamic measurement of CRP level is helpful to evaluate the curative effect.
