Abstract

To study the effect of extraneous 2,4-D on the growth and biochemical composition of Dunaliella salina, different concentrations of 2,4-D were added into the vegetative green cells. In this stage, cell density,β-carotene,chlorophyll and total soluble proteins contents were determined respectively. The results showed that cell density and β-carotene production of 0.1 mg/L 2,4-D treatment were 22% and 7.8% higher than those of the control.Chlorophyll and total soluble proteins contents of this treatment had no evident difference from those of other treatments and the control.
