Grammatical Metaphor and it’s Function of Reconstructing Experience in Translation between Chinese Ci-Poetry and English

Grammatical Metaphor functions in a way of reconstructing experiences or reality on the basis of the transitivity processes of clauses in translation. It is the transitivity process that constructs the discourse and its meaning. Translation on the level of discourse is in fact to make choice of transitivity processes one by one, which would render distinctive experiences. The difference conveyed in terms of transitivity processes by contrasting ci-poetry Shui Diao Ge Tou with its 3 English versions suggests that the diversity is dominant and frequent in the transitivity processes by translation, which results in construing different experiences, thus another perspective to make criticism on the equivalence in the translation between Chinese Ci-poetry to English was offered.
