Confucius' Doctrine of Mean and its Value for Modern Management

Abstract

The Confucian golden mean is the integrated demonstration of both rational wisdom and dialectic philosophy,contained in such notions as harmony without uniformity,inadequacy of overdoing and weighing every circumstance.This paper studies the value of Confucius' doctrines for modern management from two aspects: the coordinating function and methodology of integration of rigidity and flexibility.
