Abstract
Standard k-e turbulence model in conjunction with wall function was adopted to perform numerical computation for the fluid flow and heat transfer in the shell side of segmental baffle heat exchanger,disk-donut baffle heat exchanger,baffle-grid heat exchanger and twist tube heat exchanger.According to the results of numerical computation, the shell side's heat transfer coefficient, pressure drop and the parameter α/Δp as a function of mass flow rate were investigated and compared for the four types of shell-and-tube heat exchanger. It is useful for the optimization and selection of shell-and-tube heat exchanger.
