Research on SIP-based multimedia communication

Abstract

Although only more than one year since session initiation protocol(SIP) is delivered,SIP is already become the research hotspot in telecommunication and network fields.Along with the completeness of this protocol,SIP is widely used in various realms,such as multimedia conference and VoIP.A brief introduction of the SIP history is given and a detail description of SIP URI,SIP messages and SIP network elements is introduced.Through the comparison of sip and H.323,we can find that SIP is simple and extensibility.At the end,a design of communication model is put forward.
