Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of malaria prevention and control in Bama yao autonomous county in Guangxi from 1956 to 2009.Methods The data of malaria prevention and control in the county during this period were collected and analyzed statistically by Excel. Results The incidence of malaria was 318.62 /104 in 1956,the epidemics of falciparum malaria, vivax malaria andquartan malaria were found. The incidence dropped to 152.39 /104 in 1970.No quartan malaria case had been found since 1971,and no indigenous case of falciparum malaria had been found since 1978.The incidence declined to 4.33 /104 in 1980 and 0.36 /104 in 1990.Malaria cases were mainly occurred among the floating population.Neither endogenous case nor exogenous case had been found since 1995.The incidence of malaria was 0.17 /104 in 2000 and no case had been found since 2006.Conclusion Malaria is under well control in the county by long term comprehensive prevention and control measures.
