Abstract
The popping characteristics,ear-kernel and plant characters of F6,BC1S4 and BC2S4 lines derived from two normal corn×popcorn crosses were analyzed. The results showed that there exist great differences among all entries.Through backcrossing with popcorn parent, its elite popping characteristics could be restored quickly, and the ear-kernel characters could be improved greatly at the same time. The correlations among different characters varied greatly with generations. So,the relationships among different characters should be coordinated in the development of popcorn inbreds using normal corn×popcorn crosses.
