Abstract
The popping characteristics,ear-kernel and plant characters of F_6,BC_1S_4 and BC_2S_4 lines derived from two normal corn×popcorn crosses were analyzed. The results showed that there exist great differences among all entries.Through backcrossing with popcorn parent, its elite popping characteristics could be restored quickly, and the ear-kernel characters could be improved greatly at the same time. The correlations among different characters varied greatly with crosses and generations. So,the relationships among different characters should be cooradinated in the development of popcorn inbreds using normal corn×popcorn crosses.
