Abstract
Production process, properties, and microstructure of bamboo charcoal are briefly introduced. The microstructure of bamboo charcoal is similar to a spreading carbon nanometer tube figure, which makes it have a lot of function that wood charcoal has not. Due to bigger specific surface area, bamboo charcoal has good adsorption capacity and can be used to purify air and water. Pores of bamboo charcoal are mainly of big diameter(about 200 nanometer),so,it can be used as a carrier of nanometer photo catalyst or micro-organism to prepare nanometer photo catalyst-modified bamboo charcoal and biological bamboo charcoal,realizing perfect combination of two natures of two materials and eliminating the phenomenon of adsorption saturation of bamboo charcoal.
