Abstract

AIM:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of carisolv for chemo-mechanical removal of caries in primary teeth.METHODS:104 primary teeth of dental caries(experiment group) were treated with Carisolv.73 primary teeth of dental caries(control group) were treated with traditional drilling. After caries removed, the control and experiment groups were both randomly divided into A、B groups.Glass ionomer cement and compomers were used respectively.Clinical efficacy were compared.RESULTS:Between the control and experimental group, there were no statistical significance in the time required to remove carious dentin, incidence of secondary caries and lost fillings. But there were remarkable difference in decrease pain during removal of caries and pulpal symptom(P0.01).No statistical difference could be detected between Glass ionomer cement group and compomers group.CONCLUSION:The Carisolv technique have advantage over the traditional drilling for clinical caries in primary teeth.
