Therapeutic Effects analysis of Acupuncture Combined Ear Acupoints Therapy on Vertebral Artery Type of Cervical Spondylosis

Objective:To observe the effects of acupuncture combined ear acupoints therapy on vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency of vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis.Methods:68 cases with vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group.38 cases of the treatment group underwent the treatment of acupuncture combined ear acupoints therapy and 30 cases of control group with traditional acupuncture method.Mean glow velocity of the arteria vertebralis and arteria basilaris were recorded before and after 2 courses of treatments by trans-cranial doppler sonography (TCD).Meanwhile,scores of subjective symptoms before treatment,after one time treatment and after 2 courses of treatments were recorded.Results:The treatment group showed up 92.11% of total effective rate,34.22% of fully recover rate,the control group was 86.67% of total effective rate,16.67% of fully recover rate.There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups (P0.05).Nevertheless the treatment group demonstrates better results than control group concerning the fully recover rate(P0.05).The scores measuring the subjective symptoms illustrate a significant differences a better result in the treatment group than in the control group (P0.01).Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture combined ear acupoints therapy is effective on vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency of vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis,showing an obviously better result than traditional acupuncture method.
