Acupuncture at Baihui,Cervical Posterior Shu Points in the Treatment of Cervical Spondylosis of Vertebral Artery Type

Objective:To observe the clinical effect and its mechanism of the Baihui acupuncture,back of the neck acupoints in the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis.Methods:60 patients were randomly divided into acupuncture group and medication group,n=30.Baihui acupuncture group,Fengchi(double),Fengfu,Yifeng(double),Fengmen(double);Medication group was treated with flunarizine.Effects were observed in patients with clinical symptoms and signs scores before and after treatment via transcranial Doppler(TCD) detection of vertebral artery(VA),basilar artery(BA),mean blood flow velocity(Vm).Results:The total effective rate of acupuncture group was 90%(27/30),which was better than the drug group 70%(21/30)(P0.05).Two groups of clinical symptoms and signs score and VA,BA in Vm after treatment are more improved than previous treatment significantly,and the acupuncture group was better than medication group(P0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture Baihui,back of the neck acupoints in the treatment of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type is good enough to improve the VA,BA and the average flow velocity.
