Abstract

A Group of ancient_poetry_styled verses in WEN Yi_duo's letter to Liang Shiqiu written before he went back to China from U.S.in 1925 are of great importance to the research into his new verse writing development from RED CANDLE to DEAD WATER,i.e. the change from the popular free verse of that time to the metrical verse,to the understanding of his new poetry theory regarding constructing the metrical pattems of new verse as its essential task and final aim,and to the reflection on the present condition and the future development of new verses today.
