Efficacy and safety of intravenous amiodarone in critically ill

Objective:To investigate efficacy and safety of intravenous amiodarone in critically ill with arrhythmia. Methods:Sixtyeight consecutive patients with tachycardia arrhythmia received intravenous amiodarone were included in this study.Of 68,49 patients had vary degree heart failure,1 patient with serious low blood pressure.Blood pressure and heart rate before and after intravenous amiodarone were compared, effects and side effects of intravenous amiodarone were analyzed.Results:Clearly effect,effect and no avail rates respectively were 67 7%,45 6% and 7 4%.Heart failure did not deteriorate.No serious side effect was observed during intravenous amiodarone.Conclusions:It is efficacy and safety of intravenous amiodarone in critically ill in the patients presenting to the emergency room,especially for whose with heart failure.
