Abstract
Objective:To explore the change regularity of maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP),human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG) and non-coupled estriol(uE3) levels among women at second trimester of pregnancy and their values in screening of trisomy 21(Down syndrome). Methods:Chemiluminescence analysis was used to detect the serum levels of AFP,HCG and uE3 among 3 565 women at second trimester of pregnancy(14~20+6 gestational weeks),a professional software was used to assess the risk of(Down syndrome, then the three indicators were treated with statistical grouping analysis based on the evaluation results. Results:The serum levels of AFP and uE3 among women at second trimester of pregnancy increased gradually with gestational weeks, while the serum level of HCG decreased gradually with gestational weeks;at the same gestational weeks, the serum levels of AFP and uE3 in Down syndrome screening positive group were significantly lower than those in Down syndrome screening negative group(P0.01);while the serum level of HCG in Down syndrome screening positive group were significantly higher that that in Down syndrome screening negative group(P0.01);the specificity, false positive rate and negative predictive value were 96.8%,3.1% and 100%.Conclusion:The serum levels of AFP,HCG and uE3 among women at second trimester of pregnancy change regularly with gestational weeks, the three indicators are detected to assess the risk of Down syndrome, which are effective for reducing the birth of neonates with Down syndrome, and can be used in a wide range for clinical antenatal screening among high-risk population.
