Abstract

The effect on treatment of 50mL simulated wastewater whose concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) is 50mg/L by modified peanut shells are studied by means of static absorption under different conditions. The experimental results show that when the temperature is 25℃,the diameter is 2-3mm,the adsorbent dosage is 1.0g,the optimum condition is pH =1.0、 adsorption time is about 300 minutes, the adsorption rate of Cr(Ⅵ) can be up to 99.71%.The concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) is 0.144 mg/L after adsorption,to meet the Integrated wastewater discharge standard GB8978-1996 standards for a class of pollutants. The adsorption capacity of modified peanut shell to Cr(Ⅵ) in wastewater is stronger than that of ordinary peanut shell.
