Abstract
[Objective] To investigate the interventional effect of N-acetylcysteine on blood serum MDA of pulmonary fibrosis rat model. [Methods] Seventy-five female rats were randomly categorized into bleomycin group(B group), N-acetylcysteine-treated group(N group) and control group (C group). Except the normal control group ,other rats received instilling bleomycin. B group was fed on NAC (3 mmol/d/kg) before treated by bleomycin a week ago and C group was instilled by normal saline instead of bleomycin. Five rats in each group were sacrificed at days 1, 3, 7, 14 and 28 after intratracheal instillation. Histopathological examination, the lung coefficient and the level of MDA in blood serum were observed. [Results] Firstly, The lung coefficient in N group was remarkably different from that of B group except at day 1. Secondly, The level of MDA in blood serum of B group was significantly higher than that of C group at days 3, 7, 14, 28. (P 0.05). N group with C group had significantly difference at days 3, 7 (P 0.05). Furthermore, B group and N group had the same change tendency, and the MDA of two groups all reached the peak at days 7, then gradually reduced, but two groups had remarkably difference at days 7, 14, 28. [Conclusion] The MDA in bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis in rat can be reduced by NAC, and anti-oxidation means can inhibit the development of lung fibrosis, which will be a new ways to treat lung fibrosis.
