The observation of metformin therapy obesity with hyperuricemia

Objective To observe the effect on metformin therapy hyperuricemia in the patients with obesity and investigate the mechanism of this effect.Methods Adopt prospective intervention study,42 patients were randomly divided into 2 groups: 20 cases of conventional treatment group(control group)and 22 cases of metformin group,the metformin group was treated with motorman(0.75mg/d po.) for 8 weeks.The changes of index were observed before and after the treatment.Results The symptom of arthrolithiasis and the skin symptom of 3 cases with acanthosis nigricans improved obviously,blood glucose in 4 cases with IGT revert to normal, BMI and waist-to-hip ratio were decreased,the index of insulin resistance,triglyeride,low density lipoprotein cholesterol and blood uric acid cut down remarkably,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol moderate elevated(P0.05) in metformin group.There were significant differences between 2 groups.Conclusion Metformin can effectively treat hyperuricemia with obesity through improving insulin resistance,relieve the risk factors of cardia and cerebral vessels disease.
