Roles of Ki-67,P53 and CyclinD1 in Small Intestinal Stromal Tumors

Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1in small intestinal stromal tumors(SIST).Methods The expression of Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1was detected by immunohistochemistry in 30 SIST specimens and 10 normal small intestinal tissues.Results There was no expression of Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1in normal small intestinal tissues.However,the expression of Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1was positively related to the degree of malignancy in SIST.The difference in the expression of Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1was significant between high risk group and low risk group,as well as between moderate risk group and low risk group(P0.05).There was no significant difference between high risk group and moderate risk group(P0.05).The expression of Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1was not correlated with the age and gender(P0.05).In addition,Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1were moderately expressed in SIST.Conclusion The Ki-67,p53 and cyclinD1may play important roles in the malignant degree judgment,progress,prognosis and diagnosis of SIST.
