Abstract
Objective To investigate the protein expression level of DOG1 and Ki67,p53 in differrent biological aggressive risk of gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GIST) and potentially clinical significance.Method The expressions of DOG1 and Ki67,p53 were analyzed by immunohistochemical staining method in 86 cases of GIST and 20 cases of no-GIST.At the same time,the relationship between GIST and no-GIST was compared.Results Positive percentages for DOG1,Ki67,and p53 were 97.7%,58.8% and 47.7% respectively in 86 cases of GIST.There was no significant difference between the expression positive percentage of DOG1 and CD117(97.7% vs 90.7%,P0.05).The negative experssion of CD117 in 8 cases showed that the positive expression percentage of DOG1 was 87.5%.No significant correlation was observed between DOG1 expression and the risks tratification of the tumor and tissue site of the patient(P0.05).Positive percentages for Ki67 and p53 were higher in group of high and intermediate risk than that in group of low and very low risk(P0.05,P0.01).There were significant difference between positive percentages for DOG1,Ki67and p53 in GIST and no-GIST(P0.001).Conclusions DOG1 protein was very high expression in GIST.Positive DOG1 staining combined with CD117 positivity enhances further a diagnosis for GIST and GIST of CD117 negative-staining.The expression of p53 and Ki67 may be an important marker in the diagnosis of risk tratification and prognosis in gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
