Expression of survivin gene and protein in hematological tumor cell lines

Abstract
Objective: To explore the expression of survivin in different haematological tumor cell lines(Jurkat,Raji,EL-4,K562,K562/AO2).Methods: The levels of survivin mRNA and survivin protein were detected by RT-PCR and immunohistochemical staining,respectively,and the cell cycle profile was measured by flow cytometry.Results: Survivin mRNA expressed in four human cell lines(Jurkat, Raji,K562,K562/AO2) with varying levels and the most highly in the K562/AO2. Survivin protein was detected in both nucleolus and cytoplasm in the four human cell lines,whose level is consistent with that of survivin mRNA.The higher the survivin mRNA expression was,the higher the proportion of G2/M phase cell and the proliferation index were.Conclusion: Survivin gene expresses in haematological tumor cell lines at large,its high expression may relate with tumor cell proliferation and drug resistance.
