Abstract

Objective To study the chemical constituents of the essential oil of Thymus quinquecostatus Celak.in Qinling Mountain area.Methods The essential oil was extracted by using water distillation and analyzed by GC-MS.Results Fifty two components were identified representing 97.624% of the oil.Conclusion The main components are thymol(20.873%),carvacrol(16.580%),p-cymene(15.623%),borneol(4.648%),canphor(3.563%) and linalool(2.954%).
