Abstract

Since the establishment of China—ASEAN import and export trade zone in January 2010,ASENA has been the third trade partner of China following EU and America.ASENA has many complementary advantages with China in that they are close to each other geographically and they have complementary natural resources, similar export product mix,and complementary import and export trade. All these bring the convenience to the further development of China—ASEAN import and export trade.Even so,there exist many competitive factors between China and ASEAN such as similar export commodities and similar export target, which restrict the trade between the two regions. On the one hand,China should make good use of the favorable opportunity of the China—ASEAN trade zone building, formulating win-win policies through coordinating with other nations in the zone;one the other hand,China should keep alert of the false appearance that China is a high-teach manufacturing exporting country. We should keep focus on the market size effect, and pay more attention to the commodity structure effect.
