The Sinicization of Buddhism from the Zen Buddhism

Abstract

As a religion beyond the world,Buddhism was widely spread in China for it filled up the deficiency of Chinese culture.However,on the other hand,Buddhism greatly conflicted with Chinese native culture.In order to survive the religion,Buddhism has to adjust and improve itself.Zen Buddhism is the production of adjustment.Zen Buddhism held that every one has Buddha-nature,gets rid of the cockamamie reasoning,advocates intuition and epiphany,propose no distracting thoughts and the policy of ordinary mind.This is consistent with the kindness of Chinese culture Confucian's good human nature,Chinese people's thinking way of favoring intuition,and Chinese traditional philosophy of life integrated by in the world and beyond the world.In this way,we see the strong assimilation force of Chinese culture.
