Abstract

Objective: To investigate the clinical value of liquid-based thin-film cell technology(TCT) in screen of cervical lesions. Methods: All 1692 cases were retrospectively analyzed from April 2008 to March 2009.All patients were detected with TCT and classified by Betheasda system (TBS). Results: The abnormal epithelial cells diagnosed by TCT were 303 cases in 1692 cases (17.91%),while the negative epithelial cells were 1389 cases (82.09%).Among 303 cases, there were 197 cases were examined by colposcopy biopsy. There were 6 cases (3.05%) of cervical cancer,133 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN I 63 cases,31.98%;CIN II 57 cases ,28.93%; CIN III 13 cases,6.59%) and 58 cases (29.44%) of inflammation or else. Conclusion: TCT combined with colposcopy biopsy is an important and useful method for the early screening for cervical lesions.
