Observation on the clinic efficiency of tolterodine for the treatment of spasm of bladder after the resection of benign prostata hyperplasia

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To study the therapeutic effect of tolterodine on spasm of bladder after resection of benign prostata hyperplasia(BPH).METHODS Tolterodine 2 mg was given orally two times per day,3-5 days before operation and 4-5 days after operation.RESULTS It was found 141 patients without spasm in the total cases of 168;22 patients with mild spasm and 5 patients with severe spasm.All patients showed without severe side effects.CONCLUSION Tolterodine is an effective drug for the treatment of spasm of bladder after the resection of benign prostata hyperplasia.
