Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of salvia injection and irbesartan on urine protein in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Methods Sixty patients in stage III were divided into two groups: treatment group and control group (30 each). The treatment group was treated by irbesartan tablets and salvia miltiorrhiza injection for one month; the control group had treatment with additional irbesartan tablets. Urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER), urine β2 micro globulin (β2-MG) and the change of blood rheology were observed for 24 hours. Results There were statistic differences in UARE, β2-MG and blood pressure before and after treatment in the treatment group (t=0.72, 0.83, 1.02, 0.86, P0.05). UARE, β2-MG and blood pressure in the treatment group had statistic differences compared with that of the control group after treatment (t= 0.76, 0.93, 2.03, 1.24, P0.05). PV, HCT, LBV,HBV, fibrinogen index were decreased after treatment in the treatment group and there were statistic differences compared with that of before treatment (t= 0.76, 0.79, 1.05, 0.85, 0.98, P0.05) and comparing with the control group after treatment there were statistic differences (t=0.81, 0.85, 0.94, 1.25, 0.98, P0.05). Conclusions The treatment of irbesartan and salvia miltiorrhiza injection can effectively reduce the urinary protein excretion, improve the blood rheology and has certain preventive effect on the progression of diabetic nephropathy.
