Abstract

Tao Shu and Liang Zhangju were the prominent talents in Hunan in the period of the Qing Dynasty(1644-1911).Politically,they were incorruptible officials and they worked hard and cherish the people.In the diplomatic area they advocated to ban opium and to resist the aggression from the western powers.In the field of cultural achievements Tao Shu was once the poetic leader,while Liang Zhangju was once a poetic teacher.The two poets were closed friends and they were all palace graduates.
