Abstract

Objective: To investigate the blood platelet count (Plt), mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW) in adults with chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) to determine efficacy of corticosteroids in the clinical significance, as well as the total number of initial bone marrow megakaryocytes and affect relationship. Methods: Analysis of 35 cases before and after treatment d3、d5, d10's Plt, MPV and PDW change, and the initial total number of bone marrow megakaryocytes. Results: After treatment, the Plt and treatment of pre-d3 was no significant difference (P 0.05), d5、d10 and treatment before significant difference (P 0.05). The MPV, PDW after treatment d3、d5、d10 compared with those before treatment, and the difference between d5 and d10 were significantly (P 0.05), the initial increase in the total number of bone marrow megakaryocytes in patients with more effective than the total number of bone marrow megakaryocytes of normal and reduced in patients(P0.05). Conclusion: MPV and PDW will help determine the diagnosis and early efficacy; the initial number of bone marrow megakaryocytes with chronic ITP can be used as indicators of efficacy evaluation.
