Comparison of the Aesthetic Ideas of Zhuang Zi and Keals

Both Zhuang Zi and Keals were against the alienation of mankind, and they both called for the return of human nature. They thought that only in this way could the unification of truth and kindness be realized. Zhuang Zi insisted on imitating the Nature , truth being valuable and truth being beautiful; and Keats considered arts being beau-tiful and beauty being true. Zhuang Zi proposed forgetting one' s own figure and desire and getting rid of one' s selfish ideas ; but Keats advocated the negative capability . They both emphasized forgetting oneself , creating a super mundane and free idea and opening one' s aesthetic mind. Zhuang Zi advocated freethinking and Keats proposed imagination. Both of them pursued a free mental state, which was a high degree aesthetic mind.
