Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of droperidol, metoclopramide and dexamethasone on postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV)undergoing epidural analgesia with tramadol. Methods ASA Ⅰ-Ⅱ 100 patients with elective gynecologic surgery were randomly divided into five groups with 20 cases each.Group Ⅰ were given droperidol and tramadol;group Ⅱ were given metoclopramide and tramadol;group Ⅲ were given droperidol and dexamethasone and tramadol;group Ⅳwere given metoclopramide, dexamethasone and tramadol;groupⅤ were given NaCl and tramadol. Postoperative nausea and vomiting, sedation and pain scores were observed at 4,8,12 and 24 h. Results There were no differences among the five groups in scores of pain at the same timepoint. The scores of nausea and vomiting in group Ⅲ and group Ⅳ were lower than that in group Ⅴ(P0.05).Sedation scores of all groups were similar at all the measured times. Conclusion Droperidol, metoclopramide and dexamethasone given alone can decrease the incidence of nausea and vomiting undergoing epidural analgesia with tramadol.A combined administration can reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting further.
