Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effects of amlodipine combined perindopril on central arterial pressure and arterial elasticity in essential hypertension patients with stable angina. Methods:The 24 eligible patients received amlodipine (5 mg/d) and perindopril (4 mg/d) therapy for 24 weeks,22 eligible patients were given amlodipine (5 mg/d) and hydrochlorothiazide(12.5 mg/d).Central arterial pressure was measured with catheter locating in the aortic root during coronary angiography, the reflected wave and augmentation index(AI) of reflected wave were acquired by calculating with formula.Brachial blood pressure(BP) was measured with a standard sphygmomanometer meantime.Automatic pulse wave velocity(PWV) measurement system and DO-2020 arterial pulse contour instrument were applied to examine carotid-femoral PWV(CF-PWV) and large and small arterial elastic indexes (C1 and C2) respectively. Results:After six months compared to control group the central arterial pressure and pulse pressure decreased significantly,CF-PWV slowed significantly, and the value of C1 higher (P0.05 all)in treatment group, whereas C2 had no apparent change. Both the reflected wave and augment index(AI) of reflected wave in treatment group dropped significantly(P0.05 ).Conclusion:The amlodipine and perindopril significantly reduced central arterial pressure and improved the large artery elasticity in essential hypertension patients with stable angina.
