On Shanghai Image in Zhang Ai-ling's and Wang An-yi's Works

Zhang Ai-ling's and Wang An-yi's works have many similarities and differences in the characterization on Shanghai image.Both of them care women under the background of reification,secularization and urbanization background.Zhang Ai-ling's Shanghai appears a decadency while Wang An-yi's Shanghai appears a nostalgic one.Compared with the method of shaping Shanghai image,Zhang Ai-ling is good at using multi-purpose symbolism of metaphorical language to express it,and Wang An-yi does use narrating restlessly.All of specific social and historical culture and life experience,literary ideas and religious belief can be the reasons which cause such different Shanghai images.
