Synthesis of 1-(4-Nitrophenyl)-3-(2-Paradiazine)-Triazene and its Color Reaction with Zinc

Abstract

This paper reports the synthesis of a new reagent 1-(4-nitrophenyl)-3-(2-paradiazine)-triazene (NPPT) and its color reaction with zinc(Ⅱ).In the presence of the surfactant Triton X-100 and in the medium KCl,H3BO3-NaOH of pH 8.8,the reagent reacts with znic(Ⅱ) to form 4∶1 yellow-brown complex.The maximum absorption wavelength is at 465 nm.The molar absorptivity is 3.15×104L·mol-1·cm-1.Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0—0.56μg/10 mL of zinc(Ⅱ).The method has been applied to the determination of trace amount of znic(Ⅱ) in zinc gluconate oral solution.The results obtained by this method are consistent with those obtained by AAS.
