Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to research the differences of time and space of urbanization development in Gansu province. Method employed is the urbanization imbalance index and urbanization matching theory. It shows that,the urbanization development of 14 cities is imbalanced,especially the imbalance index of constructive land is the highest,and each index between 14 cities shows strong imbalance. The levels of population urbanization,land urbanization,GDP urbanization developed imbalance between 2004 and 2008,there are obvious spatial variability in Gansu province. Overall,the zons that develops fairly fast in economics,the matched degree of local population urbanization level and land urbanization level is lower,and the same applies in reverse. The urban construction using lands per capita is high,but economic benefit of urban land-use is low.
