Abstract
Using data on urban population and construction land of all Chinese cities for 2006 and 2010,this paper measures the deviation coefficient between population urbanization and land urbanization.With ArcGIS tools,it visually illustratesthe degree and spatial features of imbalance between the two types of urbanization indicators.The results show that 1) the imbalance is apparent at the national level although the degree of imbalance has been decreasing over the years;2) the degree of imbalance varies by region,city scale and types.
