Abstract
16 sheep were randomly and equally divided into 4 groups(the control group and experimental groupⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ) to investigate the effect of Oxytropis glabra DC on anti-oxidative capacity, and reveal the toxicity mechanism of O. glabra DC.These experimental groups of sheep were fed daily with O. glabra DC at 5,10 or 20 g/(kg·d) until typical symptoms observed. During the test, blood routine items and biochemical parameters of each group were measured respectively. The results demonstrated that the activities of RBC, HCT,HGB,MCHC,MCV,TG,T-AOC,SOD,GSH-Px,CAT and XOD in the poisoned sheep were significantly dropped; the contents of RDW,TC,MDA,NO,NOS,LDL-C and VLDL-C in poisoned sheep were significantly higher than those of normal control group. The results showed that O. glabra DC has remarkable effects on transport oxygen, anti-oxidative capacity and lipid metabolism of sheep.
