The Resolution of Environmental NIMBY Conflicts:Public Participation in Urban Planning

The essence of environmental NIMBY conflicts lies in whether common people have the right to be informed and to express their opinions on environmental protection,and these conflicts need to be resolved reasonably and peacefully through legal ways.As a legal way of siting or construction of environmental NIMBY facilities,urban planning has the legality and legitimacy.Public participation in urban planning should target the improvement of rationality of planning decisions,promote the trust and understanding between the various subjects by molding legal images of experts,public and government and finally reach the optimal urban planning in order to become an institutional path to resolve environmental NIMBY conflicts.
