Sima Guang's historical thought and its Contucian spirit

Abstract
The writing of Sima Guang's Zizhitongjianand the rise of the Confucian school of the Northern Song Dynasty were at the same time.There were deep interrelation between Zizhitongjianand the Confucian school because they held identical views in belief,knowledge and ideology.Sima Guang's historical research not only was one of the sources of the Confucian school,but also reflected the spirit of Confucianism of that age.
