A Meandering Course:Studies on the History of Western Historiography in China's Mainland from 1949 to 1982

The studies on the history of Western historiography from 1949 to 1982 in China's mainland can be approximately categorized into four types,namely,general research,research on historians and their works,research on the national regional historiography,and research on the historical genres.In spite of some achievements in data construction,academic accumulation and cultivation of talents,there still exist problems in terms of unfavorable impacts of the times,lower level research fruits,and lack of exchanges interactions with the academic circles of Hong Kong,Taiwan and the overseas.
