The Study of Historiography in Hong Kong and laiwan District in Recent fifty Years

During past several decades, Hong Kong and Taiwan made good progress in study of historiography, not only in materials, concepts and angles of research, but also in introduction of historiography theories and methods of the contemporary West. This article discusses their achievements and features according to three periods. The study of historiography continued mainland's style of 1940's before 1960's and approached into a greater development in mid - 1970's, the research team turned stronger which span the wide array of research scope; the methods of research show an approach to diversification, which laid particular stress on textual research in past. In 1990' s, with the political change and cultural thoughts change, the study of historiography shows some new approaches as while as making a good progress in the span of research scope.
