Abstract
SH1 apple dwarfing rootstock was derived from the cross of Ralls Janet×Malus honanensis by Pomology Institute,Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The results of 30-year investigation showed it had good compatibility with the rootstocks [Malus baccata(L.),Malus micromalus] and the commercial apple cultivars(Delicious,Fuji).SH1 presented good dwarfing characteristic, similar to M26.Fruits of Fuji on SH1 had high soluble solids content and appropriate acid content, covered with 100% color, which were superior to on M26,as well as excellent texture, early maturity period, long storage stage, etc. The cold resistance of SH1 was stronger than that of M26,so it was adapted to the Loess Plateau or the region with similar climate.
