Abstract

The Fuji apple garden from the dwarfing middle-rootstocks(the basal rootstock was Malus robusta Rehd.) M26,MM106 and M9,as well as from the dwarfing self-rooted rootstocks MM106 and M7 of M-line apple in Fengxian of Jiangsu province was investigated, and the growth and development, branch components, yield and quality of apple trees were comprehensively evaluated. The results indicated that these Fuji apple trees from the dwarfing rootstocks(except middle rootstock M9) all were excellent, and the combinations of these dwarfing rootstocks and scion were proper.Furthermore, the author pointed out the existent main problems in the close planting of dwarfing-rootstock apple trees in Fengxian, and gave some relative measures and suggestions.
