Abstract
There is eight pieces of Gufu in the first volume of The Notes to Li Tai-bai′s Complete Works by Wang Qi in the Qing Dynasty.Gufu(also named Old Ode,a form of ancient prose poem),in its original sense, seems to exclude Pianfu or Shitifu(another form of ancient prose poem) whose words are beautiful and whose rhyme and rhythm is regular.According to the patterns of sentence in the eight pieces of Gufu by Li Bai,it is hard to decide whether the eight pieces all are Old or not.Though there is only existing eight pieces of Gufu by Li Bai,the information in The Preface to Ode to Roc seems to tell that his odes exceed the number.Hereby this paper discusses the genre category and titles written by Li Bai in order to get more correction.
