"The Songs of Chu" Should be the "Rhyme Prose" of "Chu"——Differentiating the Name of "The Songs of Chu"

Abstract

The emergence of songs of Chuas a proper noun is connected with the collocation and utilization habits of words.Songsin songs of Chumeans diction.Since the Han Dynasty,words such as Yuan's prosehave been in habitual use,but the name ofChucannot be placed in a parallel position with the name of certain writer in terms of concept.Therefore,the name ofrhyme of Chucannot be categorized as the same class with the former.That is the reason for replacing rhyme of Chu withsongs of Chu.The songs of Chu,namely therhyme prose of Chu,is infact the category name ofChu musicand the of many writers typically represented by Qu Yuan.The Songs of Chuhence is a uniquecollection of Qu Yuan's works.The name ofthe songs of Chuwould not come into being until the early period of Han Dynasty.The Ciin prefers Ci but known for proserecorded in Records of the Historian Biography of Qu Yuanalso refers todiction,which is definitely neither the short name ofthe songs of Chunor the so-called literary form paralleling withrhyme prose.
