Expression and significance of CXCL12 /CXCR4 in gastric carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of CXC chemokine ligand 12( CXCL12),CXC chemokine receptor 4( CXCR4) and infiltration,lymph node metastasis in gastric carcinoma. Methods Specimens of cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues in 50 cases of patients with gastric cancer were obtained. The expression of CXCL12 and CXCR4 in gastric cancer tissues,normal mucosa and metastatic lymph nodes was detected by immunohistochemical SP method. Results Compared with that in the normal mucosa,the expression of CXCL12 and CXCR4 in gastric cancer tissues was higher( P 0. 01),and the expression in gastric cancer with metastatic lymph nodes was higher than that without metastatic lymph nodes( P 0. 01). Conclusions The high expression of CXCL12 and CX-CR4was associated with the infiltration,lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer. The detections of CXCL12 and CXCR4 can be used as the indicators for judging the prognosis of gastric cancer.
