Abstract
The soil samples of Rhododendron community at different altitude(2 183~3 310 m) in Yunnan Province were used in the study. The content of soil organic matter, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and total potassium and the enzyme activity of urease, invertase, catalase and the protease were measured and analyzed. The results indicated that with the change of altitude, the nutrients of soil, soil enzyme activity were changed significantly. In addition, invertase enzyme activity was the highest, followed by urease enzyme activity. The correlation analysis indicated there was a significant correlation among enzyme activity, soil nutrient and the elevation gradient in various kinds of soils. Both soil enzyme activity and soil nutrient had a good correlation with the elevation gradients. It showed a certain relationship between soil enzyme activity and soil nutrients.
